Midnight In Sunnyside 2 Album, released on April 20, 2022, is the second edition in the duo’s successful Midnight In Sunnyside series. The project builds on Mellow & Sleazy’s well-known raw, high-energy amapiano approach.
The CD portrays the nightlife ambiance of Sunnyside, Pretoria, which is known for late-night street vibes, groove culture, and frenetic party sessions. Sonically, the group relies primarily on log drums, Bacardi-inspired rhythms, layered percussions, and repeating chant-style vocals to create mesmerizing dancefloor momentum.
Midnight In Sunnyside 2 boasts a stronger production structure and more confident sound design than its predecessor. The beats are harder, the drops are cleaner, and the sequencing keeps the intensity going from beginning to end.
Collaborations with vocalists and producers give richness and variation to the production, yet the duo’s distinctive violent amapiano bounce remains intact. It was designed especially for DJs, club venues, and street parties, but it has repeat value for casual listeners.
